May 14, 2025 | Statewide Collaboration for Inclusion
On May 14th, the Georgia Direct Support Professional (DSP) Advocacy Council proudly took part in the Strategic Planning Session for Unlock GA, a coalition committed to improving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) throughout the state.
The gathering brought together advocates, professionals, families, and community leaders with one message at its heart:
“Community inclusion is a human right.”
Unlock GA’s mission—to empower people with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who support them—aligns closely with the DSP Council’s commitment to ensuring DSPs have a voice in shaping policies and systems that directly impact the lives of those they serve.
The Council’s participation in the planning session reinforced the vital role of Direct Support Professionals as frontline advocates. Together with Unlock GA, they are helping to build a future where every Georgian with a disability has the opportunity to live fully included in their community.
