Due to a new schedule, there was no DSPAC meeting in May. The new schedule will include one in-person meeting per quarter and bi-monthly virtual meetings. We hope this will better accommodate DSP schedules and time needed away from their daily work.

A virtual DSPAC meeting was held in June and a couple of key agenda items are as follows:

Ambassador training – What is your role as a communication ambassador on the DSPAC?

  • Why is it important
  • Tools
  • Commit to ourselves.
  • SMART Goals

All members were encouraged to note a few key points from the meeting to take back to their organizations and share with fellow DSPs and other people.

Members who presented at the SPADD conference shared it was a positive experience and they gained confidence from their participation. Also, the information learned at the conference was helpful and informative.

Members asked about the pay raise for DSPs relative to the implementation of the new rates. We advised speaking with their respective supervisors about how this impacts DSP salaries within their organization.

DSPAC members asked if they could receive the SPADD newsletter. We advised that they should speak with their organization’s leadership about receiving any SPADD DSP relevant information. However, we could not forward the newsletter.

Suggestions from DSPAC regarding broadening the involvement of other DSPs. This included an addition to the website to provide a place for DSPs to submit any questions they may have regarding issues that impact the DSP workforce.

Please encourage them to share with your organization what they are learning…. thanks.
